The economic effects of immigration

This lecture series brings together renowned international scholars to present state-of-the-art research on cross-border labour mobility and related fields. Topics covered include the drivers of migration and commuting flows; the political economy of immigration laws and policies; the economic impacts of mobility on origin and destination countries; effects on productivity, wages, and income inequality; citizenship and integration policies; links between migration, trade, foreign direct investment, and technology diffusion; as well as the political and cultural consequences of cross-border flows. Selected for their leading contributions to the literature and frequent publications in top academic journals, invited speakers offer cutting-edge perspectives on methods and findings in their areas of expertise. The series fosters innovative research ideas and strengthens Luxembourg’s position at the frontier of migration and mobility research.
