We are happy to announce the opening of the LISER Safe Room.

The Safe Room provides, for the moment, access to German social security data under an agreement with the Institute of Employment Research (IAB).

All interested researchers with a valid IAB data contract can work with the data interactively on-site during opening hours.

Among the data available are

• samples of all social security records in Germany since 1974,
• a 50% sample of all plants in Germany since 1974 and,
• a panel data on hiring and internal careers in German plants, for instance.
